Invisalign

If you want beautiful straight teeth without braces you should consider Invisalign.

Dr Daxter Yeo is a Certified Invisalign Provider

At Orthosmile Orthodontics in Aspley, Bulimba, Chermside and Newmarket we offer Invisalign. A consultation with Dr Daxter Yeo can determine if Invisalign is right for you.

What is it?

Invisalign uses a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners that no one can tell you’re wearing them. This ensures you can smile more during treatment as well as after. Invisalign is made with 3-D computer imaging technology, and has been proven effective.

Why would I want it?

Invisalign also allows you to view your own virtual treatment plan when you start, so you can see how your straight teeth will look when your treatment is complete.

There are a number of advantages to getting Invisalign such as:

  1. Eating and drinking: Since Invisalign is removable, you can take the aligners out when you eat or drink. This means that you don’t have to stay away from hard foods (such as apples, carrots and steaks and pizza crusts) and sticky foods (such as chocolate, gum and various kinds of lollies).
  2. Oral Hygiene: It is important to brush and floss your teeth before putting your aligners back. While you can you eat and drink without worrying about damaging your braces (because Invisalign is invisible aligners and not braces) it is necessary to brush and floss your teeth and gums to ensure optional health. The main advantage of this is that you can maintain the health of your teeth and gums throughout the treatment.  Which means fewer visits to the dentist.

How does it work?

You wear each set of aligners for about 2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week – until they have straightened to the final position Dr Daxter Yeo has prescribed.

You’ll visit Dr Daxter Yeo about once every 6 weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned. Treatment duration varies from patient to patient, however, is typically between six months to fourteen months.

Your compliance

Unlike traditional types of braces, the removable nature of Invisalign does require your compliance for optimal results. If you do not comply with the treatment it can take longer.
